Five things every Mumma needs in her first trimester
Congratulations mumma! You’re probably feeling a mixture of overwhelming joy, anxiousness, nausea and excitement… all wrapped up together in those precious first few weeks. The first trimester (weeks 1 -12) is a vital time as you begin to prepare yourself physically (and mentally) for growing a baby in that belly of yours.
Now is a good time to download a pregnancy app if you haven’t already, so it can assist you in the countdown to the birth of your baby, track your pregnancy weekly and provide relevant articles to support your current stage.
You might also want to look into some products that can help relieve some of those first trimester niggles. Here are our top five suggestions to help support and nurture your pregnancy journey
Got a queasy tummy? A morning sickness soother like the Morning Wellness Tea by Mama Body Tea is great for calming an nausea and easing all-day sickness (why is it called morning sickness??).
You may also like some nausea relief such as the Anti-Nausea Acupressure Wrist Band by Sea Band Mama. This band is made from a soft, knitted elastic which provides pressure to the P6 pressure point, known to provide relief from nausea.
If you are experiencing cravings, you will want a nutrient-packed snack, like the Belly Bump Biscuits by Franjo’s Kitchen. These pregnancy biscuits are an ideal choice for pregnancy side effects like cravings, sickness, gas, bloating and ballooning feet (fun, eh?).
As your body is starting to change, you may start to experience some aches and pains. Magnesium is an essential mineral in every trimester to support your body’s preparation for pregnancy and birth. The Magnesium Spray by The Hermosa Co is great to spray on your legs, feet and lower back after a shower to provide you some comfort and relaxation.
ECO MODERN ESSENTIALS AROMA DIY PREGNANCY PACK
Essential oils can help in any trimester, but they are particularly useful in the first twelve weeks when you might be experiencing nausea, morning sickness, muscle aches and pains, stress and sleep deprivation (sound familiar?). This Eco Modern Essentials Aroma DIY Pregnancy Pack includes a collection of five oils, an aromatherapy handbook, a lava stone diffuser bracelet and a mini diffuser for oil therapy on the go (amazing for lunch breaks and car sessions!).
As your body is going through a lot of changes physically and emotionally in the first trimester, you may find that you experience symptoms that are not listed above (eg: headaches and heartburn). Or you may be one of the lucky ones to not experience any of it (jealous!). Each pregnancy experience is different and there are products and support services out there for you, whether you need symptoms relief or simply want to just pamper yourself. Our selection of goodies is all for you in our trimester 1 collection.
Please note; if you have any concerns with your symptoms we strongly recommend speaking to your doctor or midwife.
